Long before the world wide web existed, I, David Lee, worked as a computer programmer with an international company in the mid-70’s, programming custom software packages for small businesses.
In 1979, I became a financial consultant to small business owners and did work in the financial planning arena for 20 years, becoming a Senior Associate with a major regional financial services firm in the Houston area. By the time I transitioned careers to web design, I had been fortunate enough to develop clientele on three continents.
With the advent of the World Wide Web and the Netscape browser, I once again found myself drawn to the creative side of what could be done and what could be accomplished though the use of the internet for small companies, churches and non-profits.
So, in 1998, Poiema Design was formed.
Over the years, I have used various web design software on both PC and Apple platforms, beginning with Netscape Composer in the mid-90′s, then using NetObjects Fusion for several years, before changing to Adobe’s Creative Suite Web Premium software and now using primarily WordPress, due to its scalability and built in CMS (Content Management System) which allows clients to maintain their own sites, if they so desire, once their site is up.
In 2010, a good friend, David DeYoung, joined with me and now handles some of our Houston clients as we continue to grow both in the sites we manage and the sophistication of the sites we now build for our clients.
At Poiema Design, virtually all of our clients have come through referrals of existing clients. What was once one individual working with rudimentary web tools has become a network of people using the latest in web site design software and technologies.
Please feel free to contact us with any questions you might have regarding our services.
